WHACK-A-MOLE

ROLE: ANIMATOR

Whack-A-Mole is an animated short film produced by Studio Moles. The film follows a boy at an arcade who is awakened to the horrifying undertones of violence embedded within classic arcade games. I worked as an animator for the production, specifically responsible for Shot 160 and Shot 190 of the short, in addition to attending animation reviews and providing updates and feedback to the animation team.

A Great Leap Towards The Future

A GREAT LEAP TOWARDS THE FUTURE

A Great Leap Towards The Future is the second short film produced by Studio Moles.  The short features an animated painting of a little frog in a big city waiting at the sidewalk for the streetlight to turn green.

I was responsible for modeling and texturing the main character, Gorgina the Frog. To capture the stylization of painted brushstrokes, I used a Blender plug in brushstroke tool that Tech Artists Brian Royston and Ethan Buttimer developed to texture assets for this short. This plugin tool transferred color from the base color texture into curve-based brushstroke instances which created a base that I could use to paint additional brushstrokes with.

I used Blender for sculpting, Maya for retopologizing, and Substance Painter to paint the base colors unto the frog and Blender to finalize the model with the brushstroke tool. Backpack model and textures by Ethan Buttimer.

Additionally it was also Studio Moles' first social media collaboration with the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).
